Willowbridge

The project envisions 40 units of affordable ($375/month) short-term housing with supports for individuals in our community who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness to have the necessary time in a safe and affordable environment, in order to regain aspects of their lives that have been barriers to their being successfully housed.

Tenants will work with staff and workers from other community supports to develop personal and housing goals. The short time frame is intended to provide sufficient time for tenants to work on finding longer-term housing with sufficient support in order to start to achieve their goals. Our concept is to support people to move on to market, non-profit, recovery housing, family or other affordable housing options as appropriate.

The name

We selected the name Willowbridge as it is a reminder of our success with the Willow Inn project over the winter of 2008. It also speaks to the “bridge” this new program will provide to assist people to overcome barriers they have experienced to achieving permanent housing.
