The Wellness Development Centre (WDC) promotes the improvement of mental health and wellness for people experiencing mental illness in our community. We accomplish this by encouraging paticipation in a balance of healthy and fulfilling activities.
Here are some examples of activities organized at the WDC:
- fitness - gentle yoga, relaxation, bike rides, walking group
- community outings - picnics, hiking & swimming at Paul's Tomb
- various creative activities - making beeswax candles, decorating plant pots
- skill building classes - meal planning, budgeting, fire safety & emergency skills
- cooking class
- networking with friends while having lunch or playing board games or a game of pool.
Nutrition is an important piece of wellness so we start our day by offering a healthful meal created by a team of participants and staff. Lunch is served at noon at a cost of $3.
Our hours of operation are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11am - 4pm.
