For more than 10 years the Consumer Facilitation Council (CFC) has been assisting people experiencing mental illness and/or their family members by providing them an opportunity to participate in activities that support their recovery outside a formal mental health setting.
For example The Council has provided funding for:
- Fitness - gym passes, Tai-chi & karate classes
- Arts & Crafts - pottery courses, singing lessons
- Education - Food Safe Certificate, First Aid Certificate
- Families - funding for summer camps, swimming lessons
The Council is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers who oversee the disbursement of funds and support individuals in making their application. Currently the council consists of people with mental illness, family members, and CMHA and Kelowna Mental Health Centre representatives. The CFC Coordinator is responsible for managing and ensuring the administration of the funds.
To apply for funding please complete the CFC application form.
